Shopping in Germany's recession

(02:07) Report

Nov 13 - Germany falls into a recession for the first time in five years, but that doesn't deter some consumers from hitting the shops.

Germany sharply felt the impact of the global financial crisis, and the gross domestic product (GDP) of Europe's biggest economy contracted by 0.5 percent in the third quarter.

But with unemployment still at a 16-year low, some shoppers still rushed to fashion store H&M as products from its latest designer collaboration with label Comme des Garcons hit the shelves.

Joanna Partridge reports for Reuters.
