Paulson defends bailout spending

Nov 18 - Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson said the $700-billion Troubled Asset Relief Program, or TARP, should not be used to purchase so-called toxic assets

Paulson also opposes using $25 billion in TARP funds to bail out the auto industry, saying that those funds by law are intended only for distressed financial services companies.
