Wall St. rebounds on auto hopes

Dec. 2 - U.S. stocks were on the way to recover from the bruising they took a day earlier, boosted in part by Ford's turnaround plan sent to lawmakers.

All three U.S. automakers were set to send Congress detailed plans ahead of another round of testimony later in the week. The industry is seeking $25 billion in government assistance.Wall Street was sharply higher by midday. Conway Gittens reports from New York.
