An Israeli air strike hits home

Jan 13 - A Reuters camera catches the fury of an air strike as Israel continues to hammer home its attacks on Hamas militants in Gaza.

Israeli aircraft struck dozens of targets in Gaza City and - as this video shows - in Rafah near the border with Egypt on the eighteenth day of the offensive. Israel's top general said "there is still work ahead" against Hamas.

Both sides in the conflict show no sign of letting up: two rockets fired from the Gaza Strip hit Beersheba in southern Israel.

Palestinian medical officials say at least 933 people in the Gaza Strip have been killed and nearly 4,000 wounded since Israel began its offensive on December 27.

Thirteen Israelis -- 10 Israeli soldiers and three civilians hit by mortar bombs and rockets from the Gaza Strip -- have been killed since Israel launched the offensive with the declared aim of ending Hamas's cross-border strikes.
