Feb 6 - The UK's Energy Saving Trust opposes plans to revise the European fuel efficiency labelling system for household appliances, warning of consumer confusion.
Retailers say hard-pressed shoppers are increasingly focused on fuel efficiency as a means of saving money.
The EU-wide A-G system, which also uses colours to highlight fuel efficiency, was first established in 1994. The new scheme being proposed would replace the colours and letters with a numerical system.
