Feb 25 - Emergency crews sift through the wreckage of a Turkish Airlines plane which crashed near Amsterdam, killing at least nine people.
Authorities said about 50 people were injured, including 25 severely hurt, when flight TK 1951 crashed short of a runway at Schiphol Airport, Europe's fifth-largest by passenger volume.
The jetliner lay in three parts, with the tail section of the fuselage ripped off, and a wide crack in the fuselage just behind the cockpit.
Turkish television reported the two-engine plane had run out of fuel, but a Turkish government official said that was speculation.
