May 6 - U.S. President Barack Obama traveled to Fort Campbell, Kentucky Friday to thank some of the participants of Sunday's raid on Osama bin Laden's Pakistani compound. Jon Decker reports.

Continuing what could be called a victory lap, U.S. President Barack Obama traveled to Fort Campbell, Kentucky Friday to thank some of the participants of Sunday's raid on Osama bin Laden's Pakistani compound. SOUNDBITE: U.S. President Barack Obama saying (English): "Thanks to the incredible skill courage of countless people over many years, the terrorist who struck us on 9/11 will never threaten America again." The President also met privately with some members of Navy SEAL team 6 and the helicopter pilots who flew the mission. SOUNDBITE: U.S. President Barack Obama saying (English): "Today here at Fort Campbell, I had the privilege of meeting the extraordinary special ops folks who honored that promise. It was a chance for me to say on behalf of all Americans and people around the world - job well-done." Obama, basking in U.S. public approval for the killing bin Laden, paid his tribute to the troops five days after announcing the al Qaeda leader was dead. Jon Decker, Reuters.
