In Sanaa, hundreds took to the streets to celebrate the news that President Ali Abdullah Saleh and several of his aides were injured in a rocket attack that left seven people dead. They chanted "Leave. Leave" as reports circulated that the Saleh was headed to Saudi Arabia to be treated for neck and chest wounds. Over 100 miles from the capital, there was smoke from torched vehicles and gun fire as security forces began withdrawing from the southern city of Taiz, after a week of bloody clashes between anti-government protesters and police. The U.N. human rights council is investigating reports that security forces loyal to Saleh fired on demonstrators. As many as 50 people are believed to have been killed in Taiz in the past week.
