Egypt's former President Hosni Mubarak, who has been hospitalized since April and now faces a trial, occasionally falls into coma but his condition is stable, a medical source said Sunday. A doctor in the hospital in the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh told Reuters quote "Mubarak's condition remains stable and he falls into coma occasionally so nothing is new in his condition," Earlier, Mubarak's lawyer said the former president had fallen into a coma. Egyptian state television, citing the head of the hospital, denied the lawyer's statement. Mubarak stepped down from office February 11 after hundreds of thousands of protesters demanded an end to his 30-year rule. The former president faces charges of abuse of power and killing protesters. More than 840 were killed in the 18 days of demonstrations that led to his ouster Deborah Lutterbeck, Reuters
