A massive power failure in Santiago had locals navigating dark streets with flashlights. The blackout impacted more than half of Chile's population. This small shop used candlelight to stay open. While power was restored to most of the capital after several hours --- police are now dealing with looting at a supermarket. More than 200 people emptied the store's shelves and freezers. Many have blamed the President Sebastian Pinera for not investing enough in the country's infrastructure. One of the computers used to operate Chile's power grid was reported to have malfunctioned and triggered the blackout. Deborah Gembara, Reuters.
