The disaster happened on Saturday, after torrential rains. The country's president visited the area on Sunday and urged residents to listen to the government's instructions. (SOUNDBITE) (Spanish) COLOMBIA'S PRESIDENT JUAN MANUEL SANTOS SAYING: "To all Colombians, when there are red alerts given and when there are instructions given by the authorities, you have to follow them. Look at this case. The orders weren't followed and the consequences are the tragedy that has happened here." Residents waited anxiously for news of their loved ones. (SOUNDBITE) (Spanish) RELATIVE OF MISSING PERSON, GERMAN LOPEZ, SAYING: "In this situation, when one does not know whether his sibling is dead or alive, the uncertainty makes you feel worried and sick." The National System for Disaster Prevention and Attention said 16 people were wounded and another 20 missing. Colombia has suffered one of its worst rainy seasons in decades, with some 70 people killed and tens of thousands forced from their homes. Marie-Claire Fennessy, Reuters
