Family and colleagues attended the funeral of a South Korean coastguard officer, who was stabbed to death by a Chinese fisherman. Forty-one-year-old Lee Cheong-ho was killed on Monday, during an operation to apprehend a Chinese vessel fishing illegally near South Korean waters. Another officer was also injured in the stabbing. Anti-China sentiment is mounting in Seoul, where more than 200 activists gathered in front of the Chinese embassy. They urged the Korean government to take action against illegal fishing by the Chinese. (SOUNDBITE) (Korean) PARK CHANG-DAL, PRESIDENT OF KOREA FREEDOM FEDERATION, SAYING: "The Chinese fishing boats have been conducting illegal activities in our West Sea for a long time. Our government has tolerated them so far, but we can't tolerate them anymore after the murder case. Our people and government must cooperate to stop these activities." Some 2,600 Chinese boats have been caught illegally fishing in the South Korean waters since 2006. Nearly 800 Chinese fishermen have been arrested, Yonhap news agency said. Sophia Soo, Reuters.
