ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) STORY: U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton started her two-day visit to West Africa on Monday (January 16)in Liberia where she will attend the inauguration of Liberian President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf in Monrovia. Clinton launched her travel schedule for the year with a trip aimed at highlighting good governance and economic development. She will continue her tour with a 24-hour visit to Ivory Coast, where she will meet with Ivorian President Alassane Ouattara before flying to Togo and Cape Verde on Tuesday (January 17). Clinton will wrap up her trip in the tiny Atlantic Ocean state of Cape Verde, which has moved from autocracy to prosperous democracy and is a frequent U.S. partner on issues including counter-narcotics cooperation.
