A little cushion makes for faster running (2:50) 

May 18 - Lightly cushioned shoes make for more efficient running, according to a new study from the University of Colorado in Boulder. For decades, runners from Africa who grew up running barefoot have dominated long distance events, leading many to believe that barefoot running is more efficient than running with shoes. But the study finds that the added strain on leg muscles from running barefoot has the opposite effect. Ben Gruber reports. ( Transcript )
