WARNING GRAPHIC IMAGES. (ROUGH CUT -- NO REPORTER NARRATION) A new spate of violence in the drug-ravaged Mexican beach town of Acapulco left at least five people dead on Monday. In several incidents, three taxi drivers and an attorney were shot dead, and an unidentified woman was killed. A government official was also seriously wounded after being attacked by gunmen. Violence has surged in iconic Acapulco in recent years as drug gangs fight for lucrative trafficking routes in the country's Pacific region. Nationally, drug violence has killed about 55,000 people since President Felipe Calderon launched an army-led crackdown on drug cartels and organized crime after taking office in 2006.
