Syrian rebels appeared to be in control of several parts of the capital Damascus after killing three of President Bashar Assad's inner circle. Unverified video uploaded on a social media website shows rebels flashing the victory sign, driving trucks with mounted machine guns through the narrow streets. Earlier, a suicide bomber killed three of Assad's top military officials-- a major blow to the regime, a major victory for the rebels. Hours after the attack, a leader of the Free Syria Army said rebels vowed to continue the fight. "The end is near, God willing" he said. That sentiment was echoed in Washington where the head of the Syrain National Council said the events of the past 24 hours mark the beginning of the end. (SOUNDBITE) (English) RADWAN ZIADEH, FOREIGN RELATION OFFICE OF THE SYRIAN NATIONAL COUNCIL, SAYING: "This will be tipping point. Because the Assad regime will know that he is, will be fighting till the end." But the end is not here yet. A crowd of mourners attending a funeral suddenly stop their procession as a Syrian army helicopter passes overhead. Residents told Reuters army helicopters often fire machine gun bullets and sometimes rockets into residential districts. Julie Noce, Reuters
