STORY: Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, visited the small regional Queensland town of Longreach on Monday, during the Australian leg of their 13-day Pacific tour. The Prince of Wales and his wife toured the Stockman's Hall of Fame, a museum dedicated to the cattle trade, where Camilla briefly held a baby Red Kangaroo. Later on Monday, wearing a traditional Akubra hat, the Prince met local families at a community barbecue in Longreach. His wife Camilla also took in something of the local culture, holding a baby Kangaroo. "It is more than 15 and a half thousand kilometers from London to the Stockman's Hall of Fame and I'm so jetlagged that I feel a few sausages short of a barbie," he said with a smile. Prince Charles told guests that it was the Duchess of Cornwall's first official visit to Australia, and admitted to falling foul of the country's strict customs and quarantine regulations when they arrived. The Royal party boarded an Australia Royal Air Force plane on Monday evening, bound for Melbourne. The couple will spend six days in Australia before traveling to New Zealand.
