Nov. 21 - Israel agrees to an Egyptian-brokered ceasefire in Gaza, while Prime Minister Netanyahu hints of ''more severe military action'' if truce fails. Deborah Lutterbeck reports.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu welcomes the ceasefire in Gaza but hints of severe consequences if the truce fails. (SOUNDBITE) (Hebrew) ISRAELI PRIME MINISTER BENJAMIN NETANYAHU, SAYING: "I know there are citizens expecting a more severe military action, and perhaps we shall need to do so, but at this time the right thing for the state of Israel is to use this opportunity to achieve a long-lasting ceasefire." On the streets of Jerusalem some have more hope than expectations. (SOUNDBITE) (English) TANYA (NO LAST NAME GIVEN), JERUSALEM RESIDENT, SAYING: "The feeling is of a complete unknown. I have no idea and I can only hope." In Tel Aviv, residents voice optimism. (SOUNDBITE) (English) BENJAMIN (NO LAST NAME GIVEN), TEL AVIV RESIDENT, SAYING: "I think to stop fighting is always the right move to do in any case and I would like to believe that not fighting will always do more good than fighting so it's...I'm very happy to hear that." Five Israelis were killed -- in eight days of fighting. More than 140 Palestinians died in the conflict
