In Damanhour, an attack on the office of the Muslim Brotherhood turned deadly when one member was killed and 60 others injured. Mursi's announced last week that he would temporarily widen his powers and shield his decisions from judicial review until a constitution was formed. News of the announcement sparked outrage across the country. More than 500 people have been injured in violent protests so far.
