ROUGH CUT - NO REPORTER NARRATION STORY: United States President Barack Obama arrived in Hawaii on Wednesday (January 02) to resume his vacation after Congress approved legislation that raises taxes on the wealthiest Americans and avoids the "fiscal cliff" of across-the-board tax increases and spending cuts. The president had cut short his holiday short last Wednesday (December 26) to oversee negotiation of a deal before a year-end deadline.
