Syrians chop wood for fire as an unusual bout of cold blanketed the beleaguered country in snow. Amateur footage shows the dire wintery strife of those caught up in the fighting between pro- and anti-regime forces. In Aleppo, residents wait in bread lines before the roads are cut off by the snow. One man explains that there is little bread and diesel, and the electricity has been off for two months. People are slowly dying, he says. And more amateur footage shows the harsh reality of life inside one of Syria's displaced persons' camps. The video shows a shanty town-like existence for those displaced by the ongoing conflict. Inside one tent is a family from Hama whose home was destroyed by government forces. They lost everything, and did not have enough money to flee the country. Outside, a young girl introduces herself as Raghdad. She lost her leg in an aerial attack while she was playing in the street near her home. On Wednesday, the UN World Food Programme said it was unable to feed the millions needing food in Syria as resources there dwindle.
