Feb. 5 - Facing an uphill battle in Congress, U.S. President Barack Obama takes his gun control campaign to Minnesota, a state with an active gun and hunting culture. Travis Brecher reports.

President Barack Obama is taking his gun control campaign to Minneapolis, Minnesota -- a visible push for reform ahead of his State of the Union address in a state with an active hunting culture. (SOUNDBITE) (English) PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES BARACK OBAMA SAYING: "We don't have to agree on everything to agree it's time to do something." Obama wants to move quickly to pass laws before memories fade of last December's mass shooting at a school in Connecticut that claimed dozens of lives. (SOUNDBITE) (English) PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES BARACK OBAMA SAYING: "There won't be perfect solutions. We're not going to save every life but we can make a difference. That's our responsibility as Americans. That's what I'll do every single day I have the honour to serve as your president." On January 16 Obama proposed requiring criminal background checks for all gun sales. He also called for a ban on all assault-style weapons and recommended limiting ammunition magazines to 10 rounds. Obama is set to deliver his State of the Union address on Feb. 12, and gun control is expected to be at the top of the agenda.
