Mardi Gras in New Orleans - one of the biggest parties of the year.
But on Saturday night, four people were wounded when gunfire broke out on Bourbon Street.
One man was in critical condition and undergoing surgery, while another man and two women were in stable condition.
Police believe the shooting stemmed from an argument, but said they hadn't identified a suspect.
Every year crowds gather in the city's French Quarter for the celebrations, culminating on Fat Tuesday, which this year falls on February 12.
