U.S. Morning Call: Tiffany results shine bright on 'Gatsby'

May 28 - Tiffany's first quarter results got a lift from Valentine's Day, promotions around the jeweler's 175th anniversary and its special 'Great Gatsby' collection.

This is the last week for investors to sell it today and go away will it happen. Let's get your Tuesday morning call and find out. Stock markets abroad are rising as investors in the US shake off last week's decline return from the Memorial Day holiday. SCI world equity index on course for its best day in a month. Japan's case staying after last week's mini crash finishing one point 4% higher. US futures all pointing to strong gains -- is springing off their first weekly loss since mid April. Central -- stimulus has been a major factor in the Wall Street rallied this year lifting the S&P 500 more than 15%. Take that away we'll see if the excitement surrounding stocks still continues. Tip your results sparkling like indicted with sales soaring 9%. The first quarter got a lift from Valentine's Day promotions around the -- 175. Anniversary. It's special Great Gatsby collection times with bill. And check it shares a valiant pharma if you don't know that name maybe you know it's big drug well putrid. -- -- up over 8% in the premarket after signing off on an all cash eight point seven billion dollar deal to five Bausch and lomb. The Canadian company has been on an -- hair making about sixty deals since 2008. This one of the biggest so far and -- -- among the fifteen largest global pharma company. Shares -- -- got up 4% this morning reaching their highest in two years on Chrysler buyout talks. Italian newspapers speculate Fiat is close to acquiring the 41% stake in Chrysler it does not already. Wrapping it up with some economic data medication at home price index for march hits later today expect to see solid gains from a year ago. The big question will be so strong that the -- thinks harder about cutting back its money drops into the market. We've also got the consumer confidence number for May at -- 10 AM -- economists are predicting a surge in confidence for the month.
