Women takes to the streets in Cairo in a show of support for ousted President Mohamed Mursi. They demand his release and say mediation efforts by the EU's foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton are of no importance. Egypt's rulers allowed Ashton to meet Mursi -- the first time an outsider was given access to him since he was overthrown and jailed a month ago. (SOUNDBITE)(Arabic) MURSI SUPPORTER, SOHEIR MOHAMED, SAYING: "We don't care about Ashton or anyone else. What we care about is whether or not there is democracy in our country. Where are the free people of the world? Where are the ones who demand democracy? Where is America? Where is Europe and the developed states? They have e proven they are uncivilized. They believe in democracy in word only, as a slogan." The White House Monday condemned the weekend bloodshed that left at least 80 Mursi supporters dead, but said it has taken no steps to suspend U.S. military assistance to the country.
