U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry arrived in Colombia on Sunday to meet with President Juan Manuel Santos on the first leg of a Latin American tour that will also take him to Brazil for talks on increasing cooperation, according to the State Department. During his one-day visit to Bogota, Kerry will also meet Foreign Minister Maria Angela Holguin and Defence Minister Juan Carlos Pinzon. The bilateral agenda is expected to include discussions on trade, drug trafficking and security. South American leaders are reportedly furious over reports from fugitive former U.S. spy agency contractor Edward Snowden that the U.S. National Security Agency targeted most Latin American countries with spying programmes that monitored Internet traffic, especially in Colombia, Venezuela, Brazil and Mexico.
