Paris catches rock 'n' roll fever. David Bowie's autographed guitar and a flame-embellished car are among the hundreds of rare rock 'n' roll memorabilia that will be up for auction at the Artcurial auction house. Items date from the early 1950's to the present, celebrating more than a half century of rock 'n' roll. The sale includes over 350 lots, from costumes and contemporary art, to motorcycles and pinball machines. The auction, entitled "It's Only Rock 'n' Roll," is meant to pay tribute to rock that, according to auction house president Francois Tajan, manifests itself in all spheres of culture. SOUNDBITE: Francois Tajan, president of Artcurial auction house, saying (French): "This sale, above all, has the goal of paying homage to rock, to celebrate rock 'n' roll, but also to show the multiplicity, the different directions, the influences, and the manifestations of rock 'n' roll." The auction begins on November 7.
