March 10 - British PM Cameron tells his parliament that key Russians could face travel bans and asset freezes if Moscow does not resolve Ukraine crisis diplomatically. Deborah Lutterbeck reports.

Tensions in Crimea as unidentified armed men move into a Ukrainian naval post. This comes as British prime Minster David Cameron tells parliament that Russia could face more sanctions if it does not move forward on a diplomatic solution. (SOUNDBITE) (English) BRITISH PRIME MINISTER DAVID CAMERON SAYING: "At my instigation the Council tasked the European Commission to begin work on additional measures which could be taken against Russia if these talks don't get going or don't start producing results. These will include asset freezes and travel bans." He called the upcoming March 16 referendum in Crimea over joining Russia "farcical" and says if Moscow recognizes the result it would face further consequences. (SOUNDBITE) (English) BRITISH PRIME MINISTER DAVID CAMERON SAYING: "Chancellor Merkel and I were clear that any attempt to legitimize an illegal referendum would require us to respond by ratcheting up the pressure further." President Vladimir Putin says Russia is not controlling events in Crimea. (SOUNDBITE) (English) BRITISH PRIME MINISTER DAVID CAMERON SAYING: "Britain's own future depends on a world where countries obey the rules. In Europe we have spent the last 70 years on working to keep the peace and we know from history that turning a blind eye when nations are trampled over stores up greater problems for the longer term." Putin has said that Ukraine's new leaders seized power in an unconstitutional armed coup and that Russia has the right to invade Ukraine to protect Russians living in the former Soviet republic.
