Argentine-Israeli Daniel Barenboim presents first Barenboim Festival to take place in Buenos Aires, speaks out about Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Rollo Ross reports.

To highlight his upcoming musical festival, Argentine-born Israeli Daniel Barenboim, who is one of the world's most prolific conductors held a news conference. Barenboim was given honorary Palestinian citizenship back in 2008, making him the first Israeli Jew to be offered the status. So it was inevitable that he was going to be questioned about the current Israeli-Palestinian conflict. SOUNDBITE Conductor Daniel Barenboim, saying (Spanish) "All wars end one day, good or bad, with agreement or without agreement, cruelly or not but they end. What will happen in Israel and Palestine when this war ends? The hate it is being transmitting to very young people, kids...this is something that political negotiation is not going to be able to erase." The Barenboim festival will begin in Buenos Aires on August 3rd with a performance by the West Eastern Divan Orchestra, which consists of people from all over the Middle East, including both Palestinians and Israelis.
