Video captures boy's rescue from rubble in Syria bombing aftermath

Amateur video appears to show the dramatic rescue of a young boy buried under a the rubble of a destroyed building after what was reportedly aerial bombing by Syrian government forces in Aleppo. Rough Cut (no reporter narration).

The video purported to show a rescue mission in the aftermath of what was said to be an aerial attack by the forces loyal to President Bashar al-Assad in Jesr al-Hajj neighbourhood in Aleppo. A group of civil defence workers could be seen working frantically in an attempt to rescue a boy trapped under the wreckage of a destroyed building. One rescuer was seen pouring water onto his palm and reaching under the rubble to feed the parched child, who was heard wailing and saying: "May Got damn you, Bashar al-Assad". A distraught man, possibly a relative of the child, looked on anxiously as the rescue went on. When the child was finally freed, the man was seen carrying the youngster towards the ambulance. Reuters cannot verify the authenticity of this video, which was obtained from a social media website. More than 190,000 people have been killed in Syria's conflict since it started more than three years ago, according to the United Nations. The daily death toll from shelling, gun battles, air strikes and executions regularly rises above 200.
