A media frenzy outside the Greek Parliament in Athens. The country's lawmakers arrived for the swearing in of the new coalition government led by Syriza. Members of the anti-austerity party promised it won't be business as usual with the ECB and IMF. They remained defiant about renegotiating Greece's bailout agreement. SOUNDBITE: Socrates Vardakis, Syriza Party Lawmaker, saying (Greek): "We will resist these carnivorous policies that have destroyed the Greek people, and the ECB, the IMF, and the troika must understand that they need to make concessions that will be for the good of the Greek people, a people that for the last four, five years have suffered a great deal." Greece's Prime Minister and Finance Minister have already come to blows with officials in Brussels over the terms of Greece's debt programme. That's prompting calls from opposition lawmakers for the new cabinet to play by the EU's rules. SOUNDBITE: Antonis Georgiadia, New Democracy Party Politician, saying (English): "We think that the Prime Minister will act as a responsible Prime Minister, and he will understand that in the European Union there are rules and the rules must be kept. "Pacta sunt servanda" was in ancient Rome. We can change the decisions but only under negotiations with our partners in the European Union." The ceremonies inside the building came just hours after the ECB decided to stop accepting Greece's junk-rated bonds in exchange for funding. Now eyes in Athens and abroad are turning to the weekend when Alexis Tsipras is due to unveil his government's policies.
