ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION). STORY: Activists, political parties and civil society associations marched in the Jordanian capital Amman on Friday (February 6) to condemn the killing of the Jordanian pilot Mouath al-Kasaesbeh by Islamic State. Demonstrators walked from al-Husseini Mosque to al-Nakheel Square in Amman, waving the Jordanian flag and holding photos of Kasaesbeh and banners expressing solidarity with the pilot's family. Queen Rania joined the participants, holding a photo of the pilot. Islamic State released a video on Tuesday (February 3) purporting to show Kasaesbeh being burned alive in a metal cage. One demonstrator, Tayseer al-Khalailah, described Islamic State as "stray dogs". "Daesh is a gang and stray dogs. We are all against anyone who says 'we are with Daesh.'' This is not an Islamic state. They are gangs. Islam neither burns nor kills," he said, using an Arabic acronym for the militant group.
