Convicted of sodomy -- Malaysian opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim arrives at prison Tuesday -- where he is sentenced to serve five years. Ibrahim denied the charge that led to his second conviction for sodomy -- saying it was politically motivated. The government denies any role of interference in the case. The U.S. said it was "deeply disappointed" with the conviction. A court found the 67-year old former deputy prime minister guilty last March of sodomizing a former political aide. His failed appeal effectively spells the end of his political career. The conviction disqualifies him from political office and contesting the next election that must be held by 2018.
