One week after opposition politician Boris Nemtsov was shot dead near the Kremlin... Russia's security chief, Alexander Bortnikov, says two suspects have been detained. (SOUNDBITE) (Russian) HEAD OF RUSSIAN FEDERAL SECURITY SERVICE, ALEXANDER BORTNIKOV, SAYING: "They are Anzor Gubashev and Zaur Dadayev The head of state was informed about it. Necessary operative steps and investigation continues." State-run RIA news agency reported Bortnikov as saying that both were from the Caucasus -- a violent and impoverished region on Russia's southern flank. But some of Nemtsov's friends believe the Kremlin is to blame for the murder. They have questioned why police took so long to arrive at the crime scene... ...and how anyone could fire six shots and get away in an area monitored by security cameras. The Kremlin denies playing any role in Nemtsov's death -- With Russian President Vladimir Putin calling it a shameful tragedy.
