ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) Ahead of the Republican U.S. presidential debate set for Thursday (August 6), former Arkansas Governor and 2016 Republican presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee faced questions on CBS' Face the Nation news program over his gas chamber remarks relating to the Iran nuclear deal. Huckabee drew criticism from Israel last week for comments in which he accused U.S. President Barack Obama of marching Israelis "to the door of the oven" in a nuclear deal with Iran. "Has there ever been a modern debate where an argument was won by using a Nazi analogy?" CBS host John Dickerson asked. "I don't know if a debate has ever been won, but I know that we are in a very dangerous situation because of the deal with the Iranians," Huckabee replied. "As a person who has stood in Auschwitz for three different occasions and understood the gravity of the situation... When someone is saying they're going to kill an entire group of people, we'd better take it seriously," he added. Huckabee is seeking his party's nomination for president in the November 2016 U.S. election.
