After returning from exile in Saudi Arabia last week, Yemeni President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi is meeting with local tribal leaders and officials in the southern port city of Aden. It's part of his strategy to gather support for his government and its Gulf backers in the fight against Houthi rebels, who took control of the capital, Sanaa, last year. These uniformed troops here are all from Gulf countries and were responsible for recapturing Aden in July. They're part of the Saudi-led coalition that's been bombing Houthi positions for months, trying to get Hadi back to power in Sanaa. The United Nations estimates that, together, the air strikes and the fierce street fighting, have killed more than 4,500 Yemenis since March... and with the coalition determined to retake the capital, the conflict appears far from over.
