Two early exit polls suggest that opposition center-right challenger Mauricio Macri appears to have won Argentina's presidential election. Deborah Lutterbeck reports.

Early exit polls in Argentina show opposition challenger Mauricio Macri as the apparent winner in the country's presidential election. If the results are confirmed, it will be the first time in more than a decade that the opposition has wrested the presidency from the populist Peronists. The 56-year old Macri had gone into the run-off election with a comfortable lead in opinion polls, promising to bring new investment into the ailing economy with pledges to tackle crime and fight corruption
