You can own a piece of Beatles history. A drum set used by Ringo Starr will be sold by Julien's Auctions in Beverly Hills. The three-piece Ludwig Oyster Black Pearl drum set was used by Starr in more than 200 performances as a Beatle and used to record some of the band's biggest hits including, "Can't Buy Me Love," "She Loves You" and "I Want to Hold Your Hand." SOUNDBITE: Ringo Starr, saying (English): "Well the drums of course. I mean, that's easy because they are the drums that are on a lot of Beatles records but I have the other kits, you know, I mean, there's like seven kits going up here and I still have seven kits. So, I got a lot of drums still but I thought, I wanted to make it better. Barb and I thought, yeah we've got lots of furniture, we've got lots of cutlery, we've got lots of this and I thought let's make it really crazy and special and, like, the John guitar. John's guitar, which he gave me in the 60s, you know, it's been played twice. And, as Barbara said, you know, it's going for a good cause as well so that's why we're supporting it." Julien's president and CEO said the drums could sell for between two and five million U.S. dollars -- with some of the proceeds from the sale going to benefit a charity set up by Starr and his wife Barbara Bach. The auction will be held online.
