ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton says she will not back down from fighting for sensible gun reform. Her comments come in the wake of the mass shooting in Southern California. Speaking during a campaign stop at Southern New Hampshire University, Clinton on Thursday said Congress needs to do more. "Congress has failed to pass the most basic measures, even though 92 percent of Americans support them and 83 percent of gun owners support them. So just what will it take for Congress to overcome the intimidation of the gun lobby to ensure something as simple as making sure people on the terror watch list cannot buy guns," said Clinton. The couple accused of killing 14 people at a holiday party in Southern California had more than 6,000 rounds of ammunition and a dozen pipe bombs on them and elsewhere, authorities said on Thursday as they sought to determine if the pair had links to Islamic militant groups. Syed Rizwan Farook, 28, and Tashfeen Malik, 27, who was described as his wife and mother of his 6-month-old daughter, were killed in a shootout with police five hours after Wednesday's massacre at the Inland Regional Center social services agency in the city of San Bernardino. Twenty-one people were wounded in the shooting. "No matter what motivation these killers, these murderers had, we can say one thing for sure, they should not have been able to do this. We cannot go on losing 90 people a day to gun violence and I don't believe we can stop every incidence of gun violence, but we sure can stop a lot of them and we need to take action now," said Clinton.
