The U.S. government has made a formal request to Honduras to extradite the country's former President, Rafael Callejas, for alleged ties to FIFA corruption. On Thursday, new indictments were unveiled in the U.S. in a widening of the investigation into corruption in global soccer. Callejas, who served as the head of the Honduran soccer federation after his presidency, says he bears no responsibility for any of the accusations made against him. (SOUNDBITE) (Spanish) FORMER HONDURAN SOCCER FEDERATION CHIEF, RAFAEL CALLEJAS, SAYING: "The issue is concerning, it's difficult and I hope there is due process, that public demand does not override a judicial system which is obliged to act because this could happen. I am a public figure, for many years I have spoken out against illegal activities. I hope to do this now." The former president is one of 16 soccer bosses from across South and Central America charged for their involvement in multimillion-dollar bribery schemes for marketing and broadcast rights. He, however, says he does not recall the value of the contracts he signed.
