ROUGH CUT - SUBTITLED (NO REPORTER NARRATION) STORY: Clashes intensified in the southeastern town of Cizre on Thursday as a large-scale military campaign entered its fourth week. Turkish forces launched a campaign targeting militias of the Kurdistan Worker's Party, or PKK, in the southeastern part of the country on December 14. The military said 225 PKK fighters had been killed in Silopi and the nearby town of Cizre since operations in both places began. Hundreds of soldiers and civilians have also died in towns and cities across the region in the operations. Violence in the three-decade-long war with PKK fighters flared in July after the collapse of peace talks between PKK and Turkish government. In the town of Cizre near the Syrian border, tanks fired at targets as helicopters circled and gunfire echoed through the town, footage showed. "We are emotionally drained. There has been no let-up. They have been striking with mortar shells and tanks for 22-23 days. What we have done to deserve this? We are poverty-stricken. Enough is enough," added Ayse Toz. Turkey's president said there would be no let-up in the campaign which he said had killed more than 3,000 militia fighters in 2015.
