ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) STORY: The United Nations Security Council on Sunday condemned North Korea's latest rocket launch and vowed to take measures in response to Pyongyang's violations of U.N. resolutions. "The members of the Security Council strongly condemned this launch," Venezuelan Ambassador Rafael Dario Ramirez Carreno, president of the council this month, told reporters. He said the launch was "a serious violation of Security Council resolutions." South Korean Ambassador Oh Joon called the launch "outrageous" behavior by his country's northern neighbor and said the celebrations of the launch broadcast from Pyongyang were "pathetic." U.S. Ambassador Samantha Power told reporters the the U.S. will be meeting with other United Nations members to ensure that the international community takes swift and aggressive action. Pyongyang has been under U.N. sanctions because of its nuclear weapons program since it first tested an atomic device in 2006.
