I remember they tried to organise press conferences, they tried to get together so that people would listened to them. And so I said to myself: 'I'm going to make a film that captures that idea. . SOUNDBITE, director, Rachid Bouchareb, saying (French): "I made up this story. I can't say this girl exists, from the beginning to the end, you know what I mean? It's snippets of situations but what often comes out of them…Well, unfortunately, the situations are that mothers and fathers receive messages which say that their children are dead." 'Road to Istanbul' was screening at the Berlin film festival in the sidebar selection, Panorama.
