"I am proud of the campaign we have run to unify our country, and to advocate conservative solutions that would give more Americans the opportunity to rise up and reach their God given potential," he said. "But the people of Iowa, and New Hampshire and South Carolina have spoken, and I really respect their decision, so tonight I am suspending my campaign," Bush said Analysts said Bush needed to do well in South Carolina to show he can perform strongly in the Super Tuesday primaries on March 1, when a collection of mostly southern states will vote.
