North Korean state media showed video of Kim Jong Un overseeing a large-scale military drill. The broadcaster said the drill was North Korea's largest exercise ever involving long-range artillery and included a simulated attack on South Korea's presidential and government offices. The broadcaster said the drill happened last week but didn't specify the location. Kim ordered the military to be on high alert so that it could "mercilessly pound the reactionary ruling machines in Seoul" calling them cesspools of evil. North Korea often threatens attacks against South Korea and the United State. Tensions have been high on the Korean peninsula since the North conducted a nuclear test in January and a long-range rocket launch in February, which prompted tough new sanctions by the United Nations Security Council.
