Hundreds of protesters in Sao Paolo are calling for the impeachment of Brazil's President Dilma Rousseff. She's facing charges brought by the opposition about irregularities in the government budget they say were designed to favour her re-election in 2014. Rouseff could lose power as soon as May, if the lower house of Congress approves her impeachment. Protesters are also calling for all the main parties to be stripped of power, and for general elections for be brought forward from 2018. (SOUNDBITE) (Portuguese) BRAZILIAN CONFEDERATION OF PENSIONERS REPRESENTATIVE, JOSIAS DE OLIVEIRA, SAYING: "We think that things cannot remain like this, what they are doing today is botching things, and it means that nothing is going to change. They are just lying to the people again, as the ruling Workers' Party has lied, as the main opposition party has lied, just as that crook who is governing our country has lied." The crisis has split the nation. Thousands demonstrated Thursday in defence of Rouseff's government.
