NATURAL ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) After successfully conquering the United Kingdom, television series 'The Night Manager' landed in Los Angeles for its North American premiere. The series, based on a novel by John Le Carre, follows night manager Jonathan Pine (Tom Hiddleston) of a Cairo hotel who inadvertently comes across confidential papers which describe a large-scale weapons trade. Soon, under the tutelage of MI6 operative Angela Burr (Olivia Colman), he becomes a mole in the close circle of weapons trader Richard Roper (Hugh Laurie) but not before losing his identity. The series has seen Tom Hiddleston become a heartthrob in the UK and after a raunchy scene in 'The Night Manager', his behind began trending on Twitter with its own hashtag #hiddlesbum. Tom Hiddleston's portrayal as an everyday man who becomes an undercover operative has put the actor as a potential replacement for Daniel Craig in the Bond franchise. When asked what his reaction was to the rumors were, Hiddleston replied "Difficult, because people have very strong opinions about Bond and why shouldn't they? But it's difficult to talk about because it's a completely unreal conversation in a way. I haven't spoken to anyone who makes those films. It's just an idea in people's minds so it's quite hard to engage with because it hasn't come from me if that makes sense. It's odd because it's becoming overwhelming - not the thing of it, but the number of people per day who bring it up, it's actually becoming a weird thing to deal with. I feel like, I want to just make it stop because I have no power over it, but that's what being famous is. You have no power over other people's opinions. 'The Night Manager' airs on AMC on April 19.
