ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) STORY: U.S. President Barack Obama was welcomed to Germany on Sunday (April 24) with a military honors ceremony at the Royal Palace of Herrenhausen in the northern city of Hanover. German Chancellor Angela Merkel was hosting the president there for talks, with trade and security crises topping the agenda. Later on Sunday the close allies were due to tour Hanover's massive industrial trade fair as they seek to breathe new life into the Trans-Atlantic Trade Investment Partnership (TTIP), a sweeping U.S.-European free trade deal which supporters say could boost each economy by some $100 billion. Obama's two-day visit to Germany is the last stop on a six-day foreign tour where he sought to reinforce relationships with allies he sees as key to growing trade, defeating Islamic State and offsetting Russian aggression in Ukraine and Syria.
