ROUGH CUT - NATURAL (NO REPORTER NARRATION) Video uploaded to social media on Saturday (July 16) purported to show people fleeing after an airstrike in Ankara street. The footage was captured in the early morning near Cumhurbaşkanlığı Külliyesi, the presidential palace by Dr. Salih Yilmaz, a history professor at Yildirim Beyazit University in Ankara. "After the second bomb I saw 7 dead people on the ground. All of them were civilians," Yilmaz told Reuters. "The people were panicking. They did not understand why they were being bombed by their own army," he added. Forces loyal to Turkey's government fought on Saturday to crush the last remnants of a military coup attempt which collapsed after crowds answered President Tayyip Erdogan's call to take to the streets and dozens of rebels abandoned their tanks. One hundred and sixty-one people were killed, including many civilians, after a faction of the armed forces tried to seize power using tanks and attack helicopters.
