For delegates and those attending the final night of the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, it was a long time coming. Hillary Clinton formally accepted the nominee as the party's presidential candidate, and her supporters couldn't be happier. (SOUNDBITE) (English) GEORGE WALLACE, FORMER MAYOR AND SUPERDELEGATE FROM VIRGINIA, SAYING: "It is absolutely exhilarating. Something that you have to be here and feel and experience to get the true essence of what it represents and what it does for you in terms of your pride and your feeling of satisfaction with your country when you recognize that we are on the right path." The mood at the DNC was noticeably more hopeful than the dark picture of America Trump painted at the Republican convention last week. (SOUNDBITE) (English) NANCY MILLS, DELEGATE FROM PENNSYLVANIA, SAYING: "It was just an absolutely wonderful moment. We were so thrilled. And I thought her message of hope and the future was quite a contrast to what we heard last week from the Republicans." (SOUNDBITE) (English) FELMA SIAS, DELEGATE FROM WISCONSIN, SAYING: "It's extraordinary not just for me as a woman but for all of us as a nation, but most important for the legacy we leave for our children, generations to come." Clinton is vying to become the first woman elected the highest office in the U.S. Her Republican opponent Donald Trump, is a 70-year-old reality TV star who's never held political office.
